The Contemporary Art Society are delighted to be partnering with Shortlist Media on the latest programme of Rotate exhibitions.
The Contemporary Art Society’s office in Emerald Street provides the opportunity for us to showcase the work of artists, artist-run spaces and galleries working outside London. We host the launch events of new installations three times a year and welcome visitors to see work from 9.30 — 17.30 Monday to Friday. Works are also available to view at Shortlist, 26 — 34 Emerald Street, London WC1N 3QA.
The first of these collaborations between the Contemporary Art Society and Shortlist Media will profile Workplace Gallery from Gateshead and will be installed at both offices, which are based opposite each other in Emerald Street, from 24 May – 2 September 2011.
Workplace Gallery was founded in 2002 by artists Paul Moss and Miles Thurlow; in 2005 Workplace Gallery opened in Gateshead town centre and now represents a portfolio of emerging and established artists through the gallery programme, curatorial projects and international art fairs.
For Rotate Workplace Gallery will present a selected exhibition of work by represented artists including Eric Bainbridge, Darren Banks, Sophie Lisa Beresford, Catherine Bertola, Cath Campbell, Marcus Coates, Jo Coupe, Laura Lancaster, Richard Rigg, Cecilia Stenbom, and Matt Stokes.
