Skills seminar: Publishing and how to produce a catalogue

Led by specialists in art publishing this day will cover areas to consider when producing an artists' or exhibition catalogue, including: editing, production, design, fact checking and gallery liaison.

Whether you have never produced a catalogue or want to improve the way you have worked in the past this is an opportunity to get practical advise on how to manage your work load, balancing design with budgeting, liaising with printers and sourcing images. Ros Furness, Editor of the Frieze Yearbook, Claudia Schenk, Art Director of frieze magazine, and Anna Starling, Publisher of frieze magazine.We understand the date is quite short notice and if there is high demand for the event, and/or members are unable to make it we will look into programming a further seminar later on in the year. The day has been organised by one of the Professional Development members, Julia Bell, a freelance curator from Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
