Members are offered invites to the Private View of Piercing Brightness, an exhibition of new work by international artist Shezad Dawood which is being premiered at the Harris Museum & Art Gallery, before touring internationally. Dawood’s practice explores patterns and connections between different locations, subcultures and cultural narratives.
The exhibition complements Dawood’s science fiction feature film also entitled Piercing Brightness, and its associated gallery version, Trailer (2011), set in and around Preston city centre. Much of the work was developed during a two-year research period, in which the artist explored Preston’s social and political history and met various community and faith groups in the city.
