New Consultancy Commissions: Launch Reception

We are delighted to invite Collector Members to the launch reception of two spectacular new commissions for the Cicely Saunders Institute of Palliative Care in Victoria, London, which have been curated and managed by the Contemporary Art Society Consultancy team.
Artists Tania Kovats and Caroline McCarthy were appointed in 2009 to create artworks for the Institute’s new building. Tania’s commission, Birch, consists of a glade of cast and hand-drawn birch trees suspended vertically through the atrium — a work both architectural and a part of nature.
Caroline’s Light for Cicely draws from the networks and relationships built throughout Dame Cicely’s life and work, with manifestations including website, publication and images displayed throughout the Institute.
