Grizedale Weekend Away & Private Collection Visit

Over the last decade Grizedale Arts has established a reputation for pioneering new approaches to artistic production and exhibition. It is based at Lawson Park, a refurbished 14th century hill farm in the Lake District National Park.

In addition to acting as the hub for Grizedale’s projects with artists and other practitioners, the site incorporates 15 acres of farmland for experimental projects that relate to contemporary thinking and contemporary rural culture.

The weekend will offer the chance to find out more about Grizedale’s pioneering work from Directors Adam Sutherland and Alistair Hudson, meet and have dinner with some of the artists it is working with, and take part in activities from bracken pulling to beekeeping on the farm.

On the Sunday morning there will also be an exclusive opportunity to visit the private collection of Richard and Judith Greer. Richard and Judith (co-Author of Owning Art; The Contemporary Art Collector’s Handbook) have been collecting contemporary art since 1988 and have established an important collection with works by artists such as YBA Mat Collishaw and 2003 Turner Prize nominee Willie Doherty.

There will be a charge associated with this trip to cover the costs.
