Born in Dilston, Northumberland, and now based in London, Paul Noble gained international recognition in the 1990s for his Nobson Newtown project: a fictitious town that he represented through intricate pencil drawings, sculptures, tapestries, rugs and animations. His work can be found in many major public collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York and mima, Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art.
This Autumn, Paul Noble returns to his native North East with a special commission at the Laing Art Gallery, Newcastle, which links to their new display of art from the collection Northern Spirit: 300 Years of Art in the North East. A temporary installation is being created by the artist in response to the history of the distinctive Marble Hall Gallery. Join us to hear the artist speak about his work and see his brand new exhibition, Paul Noble Marble Hall.
This is a North East Members event. For further details of this event and Contemporary Art Society North East Membership please contact Rebecca Morrill, Head of Collector Development, North East - rebecca@contemporaryartsociety.org
