Talking Around Collections
, a series of talks and events reflecting on exhibitions taking place within our Centenary Programme continues with a conversation between the artists' collective MOOT and Lucy Byatt, Head of National Programmes at the Contemporary Art Society. In 2009 Moot were commissioned by the Contemporary Art Society to create an exhibition in response to an aspect of the Nottingham Museum’s Fine Art collection. The four directors of MOOT spent many hours in the Print Room with the Castle’s Keeper of Art, exploring the extensive works on paper collection, which consists of watercolours, drawings and prints, along with contemporary photography. The result of this research, A Stranger's Window, runs alongside Now for Tomorrow: 100 years of Collecting New Art in Nottingham.

MOOT gallery opened in 2005 and now operates from the ground floor of a four storey Victorian warehouse in Nottingham city centre. Combining a dynamic gallery programme with participation in national and international art fairs, Moot has fast become one of the leading artist-run spaces in the UK.
