The exhibition will explore how artists use colour and paint, investigating the changes over the 20th century as revolutions in paint technology, colour theory and conceptual and theoretical influences have developed.
The exhibition will include three works acquired through the Contemporary Art Society: Duncan Grant’s Sketch for the Queen Mary, 1935, Keith Milow’s Untitled, 1975–6 and Carol Rhodes’ Canal, Hill, Rail, 2001.
