For the Centenary Programme the Museum have installed a year long display of works that have been gifted by the Contemporary Art Society. The selection will focus on photography and moving image works, including artists such as Isaac Julien, Michael Rovner and Bridget Smith.
In 2009 the gallery was the recipient of the first of the Contemporary Art Society’s Annual Awards, commission to collection, they won with their proposal to commission a major new work by the Czech artist Katerrina Šedá. The newly commissioned piece will be exhibited in the Galleries in Sheffield in December this year.
