DJ Simpson was featured in Contemporary Art Society's ARTfutures 2008 and 2007 held at Bloomberg SPACE, London.
DJ’s ‘painting’ displays an innovative, sculptural approach. Rather than applying paint on canvas, he uses an electric router to gouge marks into the birch plywood or Formika supports, creating imprints of swirling abstract lines and forms. He then coats the remainder of the plywood with a backdrop of enamel paints and laminates.
